Back in 2015, a friend of mine was getting married in Maui! And even though that wedding ended up not happening, we all ended up going down to Maui anyway because... well... it's MAUI. And we had an amazing time. Much of the amazingness came from the fact that my boyfriend at the time worked for a private company that let them book all their travel and put all their meals on a United credit card. And he traveled every week from OKC to either Seattle or San Diego... which meant TONS of points. It just so happened that the only hotel taking United points on Maui was the Grand Wailea. 

We were SO out of place. We rented a biodiesel VW Beetle that looked like it had been through the wars, and we could feel the valets just ITCHING to get our ugly car out of the driveway every time we would come back from an adventure! But we had a lovely time exploring the hotel and the island. Fun fact: Our hotel had Botero sculptures in the foyer! (If you don't know who that is, just Google him, or picture the chubby sphinx that guards OU's Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art!)

I haven't painted much from this trip yet, mainly because I love to photograph the ocean, but hate to paint it. But, I expect that will someday change. And on that day, this folder will have more than 2 lonely photos in it.
